Todd Hido, THE BLACK MECHANISM

The second exhibition at the gallery of American photographer Todd Hido will feature recent images by the artist, never before shown. Todd Hido continues to search for images that relate to his own memories during his extensive travels. With a very particular use of color, Todd Hido suggests an instability behind the appearance of the landscapes and situations he photographs.

Nelli Palomäki, SPEDD OF DARK

Finnish artist Nelli Palomäki will present a new set of portraits and still lifes at the gallery. Nelli Palomäki's timeless portraits of children and adolescents reveal the fragility of the moments shared with her subjects. Her images are interested in the passage from childhood to adulthood, in memory but also in the problem of confronting one's own image.

The gallery

The gallery Les filles du calvaire, founded in 1996 in Paris, aims to show and defend contemporary creation. It opened with a photographic season, but quickly expanded its programming to all fields of contemporary art (painting, sculpture, video, installation and photography).
Since its beginnings, it has been committed to promoting the work of artists already recognized on the international scene as well as to defending young artists and their political questioning.
