Carte blanche granted to Cécilia Becanovic

“My relationship with art in recent years has been a life experience enriched by artists whose emotional language is, for me, totally contagious. These artists appear to me in a kind of exile that makes their existence both difficult and easy. I see them on a crusade against the order of things, much like wandering knights inhabited by the voices and struggles of modern artists, whom I include in the exhibition. The reality is that these artists are not lacking in faith. I watch them save hours, at all costs, to align with their convictions and share with us the mysterious regenerative power of their works.”

The gallery

Galerie Zlotowski, created in 1998, specializes in the avant-gardes of the 20th century, following two parallel but complementary paths. Firstly, frequent showings of such major modernists as Sonia Delaunay, Jean Dubuffet, Kurt Schwitters and Georges Valmier via its exhibitions and catalogues. In this respect, it has contributed to the recognition of the visual oeuvre of the Gallery's key artist, Le Corbusier.
Alongside these great Moderns, the Gallery regularly proposes the rediscovery of lesser-known artists like Ella Bergmann-Michel, Robert Michel, Stéphane Mandelbaum, and Eugene J. Martin. Participating in the main international art fairs such as TEFAF, a publisher of many catalogues, the gallery promotes a sharp selection of unseen works, always following its own taste and conviction.
