The gallery
After several years at the Saint Ouen flea market, Françoise Livinec opened an art space on Avenue Matignon in 2002 where she highlights talented modern artists who have often remained in the shadows. She presents their works alongside those of renowned artists such as Karel Appel, Olivier Debré and Pierre Tal Coat. Gradually, contemporary art took its place on the gallery's walls until it was given a space at 24 rue de Penthièvre in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, at the same time as the creation of the École des filles in Huelgoat, Brittany - a former municipal school transformed into an art and culture centre. Françoise Livinec has created a dialogue between the works of living French, Chinese, Italian, Korean, American and African artists. Alongside ""24"", the new gallery located at 30 rue de Penthièvre takes over from the Matignon gallery. Françoise Livinec devotes a space to modern artists who have opened the way to contemporary creativity.
"Located in the heart of the 8th arrondissement and of contemporary artistic activity, this new space will be entirely dedicated to modern creators who have left their mark on the history of art by exploring the margins and developing their creativity. The spirit of "30" lies in these few words: the margin is at the centre." Françoise Livinec
