City Code presents an overview of the contemporary Slovak art scene, bringing together the practices of seven artists who offer a critical perspective on the living conditions in our current world. The exhibition features a body of paintings, installations, and sculpted objects: urban-influenced paintings that reawaken a collective memory (Michal Mráz), deconstructed fragments of architecture (Peter Cvik), the interplay between representation and the geography of ancient Istroplis (Ján Vasilko), the evocation of a “retro” aesthetic (Natália Šimonová), as well as small intimate objects addressing male-female relationships (Pavla Sceranková) and hybrid sculptures highlighting a certain absurdity of “urban codes” (Viktor Frešo, Marek Kvetan).

The gallery
Since 2006, the Olivier Waltman Gallery has represented a group of contemporary artists from various regions of the world, ranging from emerging talents to established names. Active in various mediums such as painting, photography, design, video, drawing, and installation, the gallery's artists are featured in exhibitions at its two Parisian spaces (Saint-Germain-des-Prés and Le Marais).
The gallery also participates in numerous international contemporary art fairs and has developed a publishing activity, producing exhibition catalogs and artist monographs.
The gallery is a member of the Professional Committee of Art Galleries and the organizing committee of Paris Gallery Weekend. Olivier Waltman is also a board member of the Friends of the Maison Européenne de la Photographie (MEP).
