« Signes des Choses »
The Dutko Gallery is pleased to present “Signes des Choses,” a solo exhibition by the French artist Jean-François Lacalmontie. Following presentations organized by the Centre d’Art Contemporain de la Matmut in 2018, and at the Baronian Gallery in Brussels in 2022 and 2023, this will be the artist’s first solo exhibition in Paris for several years. This is an opportunity to discover a multifaceted body of work, including drawings, paintings, and assemblages, through a journey of recent pieces.
Solo Exhibition of Jean-François Lacalmontie
From april 27th to June 1st, 2024
The gallery
The Dutko Gallery was established in 1969. Initially specialized in Art Deco furniture, particularly the work of the French creator Eugène Printz, whom Jean-Jacques Dutko helped rediscover, the gallery's DNA gradually formed around the dialogue between artist furniture, sculpture, and painting.
Historically located in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the Dutko Gallery opened a new space on rue de Bretonvilliers on the Île Saint-Louis in 2010. This opening marked an intensification of the gallery's development of contemporary art programming, which has become a central element of its activities. Over the years, the gallery's programming has grown, welcoming both established and emerging artists. The artists represented by the gallery are exhibited nationally and internationally in solo shows or group exhibitions.
