Between March 26 and June 4, the galleries Le Minotaure and Alain La Gaillard will host in their two spaces the monographic exhibition of Issachar Ber Ryback (1897-1935), a major artist of the Jewish avant-garde of the years 1910-20, a pupil of Alexandra Exter and one of the main animators of the Kultur-Lige - an organization created in Kiev in 1918, dedicated to the construction and the influence of a new Jewish culture, based on the synthesis of national and world cultural traditions The exhibition is organized in collaboration with the Ryback Museum (Bat-Yam, Israel) and the Museum of Jewish Art and History (Paris). The latter - from March 8 - will present a specific exhibition dedicated to the artist for which the Bat-Yam museum is lending 5 major paintings from its collection; 5 other pieces will be exhibited in the two Parisian galleries.
The gallery
The Galerie Le Minotaure, created in 2002, is situated Rue des Beaux-Arts, at the former address of the famous bookshop from whom it preserved its name. His founder, Benoit Sapiro, is fascinated by Russian and Central Europe artists of the first half of the 20th century. Benoit Sapiro dedicated himself to helping rediscover the first half of the 20th Century Russian and Central Europe artists for more than twenty years, with a constant and passionated action.
