Zoom on photography
The Friends of the MEP are dedicated not only to supporting the Maison Européenne de la Photographie in its policy of acquiring works and expanding its bookshop’s collection, but also to raising awareness of and promoting the various forms of photography.
Throughout the year, visits to artists’ studios, meetings with professionals (curators, printers, critics) and gallery exhibitions are organised, ranging from historical photography to the new languages of contemporary photography.
The association has very strong roots in Paris, not only through its links with its parent institution but also due to the concentration of a large number of key figures in the world of photography in the city.
2026 marks the bicentenary of the birth of photography, and the Association has naturally chosen to continue this partnership with the PGW: members will therefore be invited to discover the 18 galleries showcasing photography during this highlight of Parisian cultural life!
Zoom on photography, with les Amis de la MEP.
Diverse approaches to contemporary photography: documentary, conceptual, intimate or formal. A glimpse into the current richness of the medium.
See the map below for the 19 galleries in the Marais, Matignon and Saint-Germain-des-Près.
