In his practice, Louis Guillaume observes, collects, and transforms natural materials, working in rhythm with the seasons and in close connection with the sites where his works are created. Before gathering materials, he studies the landscape in depth, venturing into the fields much like a biologist on an expedition, and often works in close collaboration with scientists and botanists. He explores both the physical properties of plants and organic
structures and their symbolic meanings, combining craft techniques, architectural principles, and artistic intuition.

The gallery

Founded by Dasha Antseva and in collaboration with Ella Tushinsky, Traits Libres Gallery is committed to emerging contemporary creation by supporting and producing the projects of the artists they represent or invite. Concerned with the curatorial and contextual dimensions of the projects presented, they work with curators and art critics to help build a critical framework. Indeed, they see the gallery space as both a commercial space and a place for artistic and cultural reflection.
Traits Libres Gallery focuses on multidisciplinary and experimental practices that address current societal issues.
