In the distinctive style of Maggiore g.a.m., characterized by dialogues between modern and contemporary art, the exhibition La rencontre entre le quotidien et l’extraordinaire offers a highly refined combination of works by Giorgio Morandi – including an important oil painting from the prestigious Francesco Arcangeli collection, and a focus on the etchings so essential to his work, accompanied by watercolours and drawings – and hyper-realistic ceramic sculptures by Bertozzi & Casoni. Inspired by the vases of flowers painted by the Master, these works are presented as genuine “d’après Morandi”, created on the occasion of a major exhibition at the Morandi Museum in Bologna in 2019.

The gallery
The Galleria Maggiore g.a.m. was founded in 1978 by Franco and Roberta Calarota, who promoted the names of Italian art, such as Morandi and De Chirico, on the international scene. Today, Maggiore offers dialogues between modern and contemporary artists, as well as interdisciplinary ones, such as the exhibition “Gio Ponti la maison à l’italienne: Campigli, Melotti, Morandi,” which opened the Paris branch in 2024. In 2019, with ACP - Palazzo Franchetti by Fondazione Calarota, the cultural work started in the 1990s continues with museum-quality exhibitions and institutional partners among the most prestigious in the world.
