Galerie Jean-François Cazeau
Dominique Fury et Niki de Saint Phalle
--
"Pop Art au Féminin"
In the late 1970s, Fury spent time at Andy Warhol’s Factory, becoming part of New York’s vibrant art scene of that era. In 1979, upon her return to Paris, she joined the Bazooka collective—a French punk group—and began creating works using manual screen printing. Her works are now found in major collections, notably the Agnès b. collection.
For Paris Gallery Weekend, the gallery will present a selection of paintings on synthetic fur by these pioneers of mixed media, as well as her “Cyber Pussies” series—a feminine and feminist response to Gustave Courbet’s “The Origin of the World.”
