Jean Moral
--
"Autoportrait - 1925/1935"
Through a collection of around thirty vintage prints, this exhibition highlights a major photographer from the interwar period, who excelled in various fields of photography of his time: cityscapes, portraits, sports, architecture, and fashion.
Through his comprehensive approach to photography, from shooting to developing, Jean Moral created his own unique iconography, which stands out from that of other photographers of the same period thanks to the softness of his large-format prints, which he produced himself.
Until the mid-1950s, he was the photographer for Harper’s Bazaar and took fashion photography out of the studio, creating a new vision for the dissemination of fashion.
Jean Moral’s photographs are featured in numerous public and private collections in France and abroad.
