Hervé Lemoine

General Curator of Heritage, he joined the Army Historical Service (now the Defense Historical Service, Vincennes) in 1996, a service where he became Deputy Director of Archives and Libraries. In 2005, he was appointed Deputy Director of Memory, Heritage and Archives at the Ministry of Defense as head of archives and library policy ensuring the supervision of establishments under this jurisdiction. Between 1999 and 2006, he directed a research seminar on the sources of history at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques in Paris. In January 2009, he took over the management of the Museum of French Monuments and the heritage department of the Cité de l'architecture et du Patrimoine (Paris, Trocadéro) and curated several exhibitions. Hervé Lemoine served as Director, in charge of the Archives of France at the Ministry of Culture and Communication, from 2010 to 2018. In this capacity, he piloted the network of public services of national and departmental archives. Hervé Lemoine has been director of the Mobilier national since February 12, 2018 and led the change of the institution's statutes into a public administrative establishment which took effect on January 1, 2022. He is now its president.
