Camille Morineau, a curator of heritage and art historian specializing in women artists, has been co-founder and scientific director of AWARE: Archives of Women Artists, Research and Exhibitions, since 2014. Based on the observation that women are underrepresented, if not completely absent, in art books, exhibitions and museum collections, AWARE's mission is to contribute to making them visible through the creation, indexing and dissemination of information on 19th and 20th century women artists.
