The gallery

The Putman Gallery is moving to Paris’s 3rd arrondissement.

Founded in 1974 by Jacques Putman, who was later joined by his wife Catherine, the gallery had been located on an upper floor on Rue Quincampoix for twenty years. Éléonore Chatin, who succeeded Catherine Putman in 2009, is as committed to preserving the gallery’s legacy as she is to supporting emerging talent. She champions the gallery’s long-standing artists while nurturing new generations, maintaining a sensitive and rigorous continuity.

The gallery has expanded and now welcomes visitors at 230 Rue Saint-Martin in a space true to its identity. For the first time, it opens onto the street at ground level, extending into a more intimate upper floor. A layout designed to accommodate various exhibition schedules and offer a sense of intimacy with the works—particularly those on paper, whether unique or multiples—in the tradition of printmaking dear to the Putmans.
