Leurres et bonheurs d'un artiste conceptuel ㅤ
Jean-François Dubreuil , France

We take advantage of the publication of the monograph on the work of Jean-François Dubreuil by Jean-Marc Huitorel, art critic, to discover or re-discover the work of this artist. For several decades he has been the colorful echo of the paper press, a new way to read the newspaper. The structure of the newspaper exists, he makes the choice of colors at random, except for advertising in red and photos in black. Only the current daily and weekly newspapers are analyzed by this system.
His works are present in many French and European collections as well as in institutions. He received the Aurelie Nemours Prize in 2016 for his entire career.
The gallery
Since many years, Galerie Lahumière has strengthened its commitment to geometric and “constructed” abstraction. It represents not only historic artists within this movement — Cahn, Dewasne, Gorin, Herbin, Legros, Magnelli, and Vasarely — but also contemporary and vanguard artists such as Bauduin, Bézie, Bodde, Coignet, Dubreuil, Gasquet, Jacquier-Stajnowicz, Perrot, Pondruel, Popet, Prosi and Stempfel.
