This exhibition is the conjunction of my two activities. Always within the framework of my speciality (abstract avant-gardes of the 50s), I first had for 30 years an activity of gallery owner, i.e. the long-term support of a certain number of artists in exclusiveness. More recently, I have chosen to also be a dealer for painters with a strong reputation. In this exhibition, we find under the heading of recent acquisitions or unpublished works both works by artists supported by the gallery and those of the second market.
Roger Bissière (1886-1964, France), Oscar Gauthier (1921-2009, France), Jacques Germain (1915-2001, France), Joseph Lacasse (1894-1975, Belgium), André Lanskoy (1902-1976, Russia), Pierre Lemaire (1920-2007, France), Alfred Manessier (1911-1993, France), Gustave Singier (1909-1984, Belgium), Alex Smadja (1897-1977, France), Léon Zack (1892-1980, Russia)
Since 1986, the gallery's vocation has been to make people discover or rediscover the abstract avant-gardes of the 1950s; it therefore devotes itself to exhibitions of artists from this period, most often on an exclusive basis, whose work it supports on a long-term basis.
Today, the focus is still on the abstracts of the 1950s, but particularly on those who are well known and in increasing demand.
The gallery is therefore looking for their works to organize exhibitions, constantly renewed, around the following names: Atlan, Bissière, Debré, Hartung, Jan, Lanskoy, Le Moal, Manessier, Noël, Schneider, Singier, Poliakoff... But also Germain, Marfaing, Zack and some others... Without forgetting the artists supported by the gallery such as W. Davanzo, E. Engel-Pak, O. Gauthier, W. Lopuszniak, D. Malkin and P. Ténèze.
